Tim Duncan
Statistically, Tim Duncan’s had one of the greatest careers ever for any NBA player in a time span over 3 decades. Fresh off winning his 5th title over the last fifteen years, Duncan still sees himself playing another year or two until his above average contributions are gone. Out of respect, we have to include Duncan on this list given the fact that the NBA is a business and would be a longshot to see him playing in another uniform.
Once Paul Pierce was traded by Danny Ainge last summer, no players in the NBA were safe anymore unless your name was Kobe Bryant. Many feel last Sunday should have been the big fundamental’s 6th championship ring to equal Michael Jordan’s career total, but two Finals MVP Awards hold him back from passing up Mr. 23. With Gregg Popovich and Manu Ginobili both committed to returning this season, Duncan will be looking to further his legacy in comparison to playing for the money.
Under a seasoned team and proper rest during the season, which the league hates, the Spurs are dark horses to win the championships until the 2016 season concludes.
