Luol Deng

Over the last season, Luol Deng’s career has drastically fallen off the map with constant injuries in recent years. Chicago Bulls management finally traded Deng last season after he was seeking a multi-year deal they weren’t willing to give.

There’s someone out there in the market that will still need the lengthy defender on their team, which we’re thinking he’ll end up alongside Dirk Nowitzki and Mark Cuban in Dallas. The Mavericks have shown great interest in acquiring Loul, but like every franchise have questions regarding his Achilles. During Deng’s tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, it was evident he had lost some bounce and was a step behind on defense, but managed to avoid the Kobe Bryant surgery. Luckily for his stock, he’s only 29 years old and still provides deep shooting and defense at the 1-3 positions (and four at times on switch-off). We’re certain the Britain-born hooper did have a higher stock than he did last summer, where the Los Angeles Lakers were one of the main lobbyers of acquiring him, but injuries may have them second guessing this summer.

A situation we feel that is best fit for him is in Washington paired up with John Wall and Bradley Beal. The backcourt tandem can fill the stat sheet, but their team still lacks a go-to shooter on the wing when the bigs and guards are struggling. He would have to take a pay cut playing with the Wizards, who are going to be one of the top 4 teams in the Eastern Conference next season.

Likely Destinations: Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets
