The Biggest Free Agents of the 2014 NBA Off-Season

NBA: Toronto Raptors at Miami Heat

Ray Allen

In a few weeks, future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer Ray Allen will turn 39 year of age. Throughout his 17 year career, he’s won 2 NBA titles, appeared in 10 all game and currently has the all-time record in three-pointers made. In comparison to his first year at Miami, he played a much larger role than he did with Dwyane Wade missing most of the season with limited play. Luckily for Jesus Shuttlesworth, he was in the best shape of life in 2014.

Following a disappointing loss in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, he was seen visibly depressed with the outcome of the situation in their complete breakdown. During the final press conferences before both teams sailed into the sunset, Ray was teased a potential retirement citing he’s had an amazing career and seems pretty much content with leaving the game of basketball behind. Ray essentially could go to any contender in the NBA including a reunion with Doc Rivers in Los Angeles. A Clipper situation is a stretch if he gets back into the right mind state after having a few weeks to clear his head.

In our opinion, Ray’s waiting to see if the big 3 return in Miami due to his age and in our opinion not wanting to leave the comfort ability he has in South Beach.

Likely Destinations: Retirement, Miami Heat
