The Biggest Free Agents of the 2014 NBA Off-Season

NBA: Houston Rockets-Media Day

Chandler Parsons

Restricted free agent, Chandler Parsons has been a very productive player in his 3 years with the Houston Rockets. The 25-year-old hasn’t reached the glass ceiling after an impressive 16 points, 4 assist and 6 rebounds per game last season. The Rockets are trying to bring in another superstar, but don’t want to part ways with Parsons. We’re sure Chandler still wants to continue being a starter in the league whether it’s with Houston or most likely in a different jersey.

After convincing Dwight Howard to join the team last summer, Parsons understands it’s a business at the end of the day and has no ill will for the management declining an option on him earlier this week. The team would be more than willing to sign him to a longterm deal in the future once they unload the contract of Omer Asik, who still has a year left remaining on his contract. We’re still expecting him to sign with the Rockets before August, but the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns are ideal situations for him.

The Suns have one of the best backcourt tandems in the entire league with Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe. The Dallas Mavericks are still loaded too but still lack a young wing scorer on the team they desperately need. The Miami Heat have also been linked to Chandler, but we’re having doubts he would take a pay cut to head to South Beach. If Houston somehow doesn’t re-sign him, we could see the rising player heading to the desert in Phoenix within a few weks.

Likely Destinations: Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns
