Dwyane Wade
Before we say anything, Dwyane Wade is still only 32 years old but has the body of a 40-year-old. 5 years ago, when flash was in prime mode playing for a depleted Miami Heat team with no future, we didn’t expect his body to completely break down on him. That was evident during the NBA Finals where he averaged only 15 points per game. Serving as the 2nd option on any team is something out of the question right now for the future Hall-of-Famer, but his high level of IQ in the game will enable him to still provide something that most teams around the league need and that’s a closer (see: Paul Pierce).
If LeBron decides to take his talents back to Ohio, we could see Wade going back home to Chicago and finish his career as a Bull. Paired alongside Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and rising player Jimmy Butler is something Dwayne would need in the later stages of his career to pace his body for another run at the post-season. With Wade being known to have a defensive IQ as well, he should be able to fit right in with Chicago’s emphasis under wide-respected head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Wade’s not the same player he was last decade, but will be someone many contenders look to call in the coming days. We’re expecting the LeBron James decision to reflect free agency once again this summer, whether they’re willing to take major pay cuts to bring in more talent or leave South Beach.
