The Boston Celtics Hire Butler’s Brad Stevens As New Head Coach

The Boston Celtics finally have a new head coach. Today they announced that former Butler head coach Brad Stevens will accept the job for the storied franchise. This hire makes sense on a lot of levels. First Danny Ainge had said after allowing Doc Rivers go to the Clippers that he would not look towards a big name coach. Though Stevens isn’t a big name on the NBA level yet he still is a very respected coach who transformed Butler into a powerhouse on the college level. This consisted of numerous March Madness appearances and back to back National Championship births.

The move also makes sense with the direction the Celtics are moving towards in the near future. And that happens to be total rebuilding mode. This is where Stevens should work out perfectly for them, as he is great at working with and developing young players.  All in all Celtics fans should be very happy with this move as they move forward as a franchise.
