Ravens get much-needed cap space trading away ngata
Over the weekend, the Detroit Lions suffered a major gap in their defense, with Ndamukong Suh agreeing to a whopping $114 million dollar deal with Miami Dolphins. While Detroit wasn’t willing to pay that type of money out of pocket, they’ve quickly acted to find a more than respectable replacement in Haloti Ngata.
The former Baltimore Ravens DT and five-time Pro Bowler will now fill in the obvious hole Detriot was previously missing, as they send away their fourth, fifth and seventh round picks for the upcoming draft. Known as the foundation for the Super Bowl winning Ravens run defense, Ngata suffered a set-back last year with a four-game suspension for violation the league’s PED rules; but he now has a clean slate from his prior faults in the DMV. Baltimore now frees up $8.5 million in cap space, which he had a team-high $16 million cap figure last season.
