Madison Square Garden. The name alone brings excitement, as all basketball fans and players alike have grown to admire “The Garden”. Now, let’s add the larger than life talent Carmelo Anthony to lead the New York City team, which is like playing at home for the star. Follow that up by bringing in one of the most successful coaches in NBA History to run your front office, Phil Jackson.

Sounds like a winning formula, right? But, there is one thing missing: A head coach.

After several disappointing seasons, including missing the playoffs this past year and no real long term leadership (six head coaches in the last ten seasons), the team is overdue for a coach. It seems to be the main focus for new Knicks President Phil Jackson as the search has been publicly monitored since he landed the role in March.

So let’s take a look at the short list of potential coaches for the Knicks currently. If anyone has other suggestion, please voice them in the comments.
