The Chargers, Raiders & Rams File for Relocation to Los Angeles

Los Angeles, welcome back to the back to the NFL!

Monday night, the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders & St. Louis Rams have all filed for relocation to Los Angeles. Football in the city of angels has been non-existent since 1995 to the nation’s second largest market – which we still find baffling.

San Diego wants to partner with Oakland and share a stadium in the Carson section of LA, which Chairman Dean Spanos has been unsuccessful in lobbying for a new stadium.

However, St. Louis Rams owner, Stan Kroenke wants to build a new stadium in Inglewood, which is the most logical destination – given the team’s history with the city since 1946.

The Rams, as well as the joint collaboration between the Raiders and Chargers will be presented to league staff and three committees of owners in New York this week.

Next week, all owners meet in Houston to decide on if any teams can move. A franchise wanting to relocate to Los Angeles requires 24 of 32 votes from owners, which we’re sure the three running-mates will be lobbying throughout the next few days to sway votes in their favor.

While the cities of Oakland, St. Louis and San Diego have been reluctant to build a new stadium for their organizations, filing for an official move has definitely opened the eyes of three towns.
