Bubble Teams: Dayton, St. Josephs, Southern Miss & BYU
In college basketball nowadays it is extremely hard to ignore the mid-major teams. Year after year we see at least one of them make a very deep run in the tournament and it’s only a matter of time before one of them wins it all. This year the standout is last year’s March Madness Cinderella, Wichita State. The Shockers didn’t lose a game this season and are a lock to be a #1 seed in the tournament. For other mid-major teams, the conference tournament is the last chance to make a case to keep your season going. Expect some surprises as this conference tournament weekend rolls on, especially out West, where San Diego State and New Mexico are locks for the tournament. If another team were to win the Mountain West conference tournament, that would then knock out one of the bubble teams.
Safe to say, this weekend we will be glued to the TV.
