After opting in for potentially his last season, Tim Duncan talks Spurs success on The Late Show.
Never one to be too media savvy, the big fundamental Tim Duncan was on a brief media run in the apple for a rare appearance on Late Night with David Letterman. After capturing his fifth NBA championship in the last 15 years two weeks ago in San Antonio’s route over the Miami Heat, Tim Duncan now joined an elite club of legendary players to have 5 rings. Letterman would open with discussing the San Antonio Spurs system of basketball, which Duncan cited Gregg Popovich as the mastermind behind their success over three decades.
Timmy revealed the team’s success is putting the right pieces together to buy into the system and don’t care who scores the most points but only title at the end of the season. The 38-year-old just opted in for the 2015 season Monday afternoon, ending rumors of summer retirement following the championship two weeks ago.
