In what may possibly be the most surprising news of the NFL season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Tony Romo will miss the rest of the season with a back injury. This news comes after Romo received an MRI earlier today and x-rays came back far worse than they had originally anticipated. Romo sustained the injury after scrambling away from a pass rusher, tweaking it as he turned around.
Now as the Cowboys go into the final week of the regular season, with the NFC East division title on the line against the Philadelphia Eagles, they will be without their star quarterback. The presumed starter moving forward for Dallas is Kyle Orton, who has been a starting QB before in the league before at Chicago and Denver. Without Romo, it is tough to see the Cowboys being able to make it past the high-powered Eagles and move on to the playoffs. Goodbye to your season, Dallas fans.
We will update this story as it develops.
