Tony Romo To Miss NFC East Title Game Against Philadelphia Eagles On Sunday, After Having Back Surgery Friday Morning.

Monday morning, news surfaced Tony Romo would have to miss the rest of the season after suffering a herniated disk against the Washington Redkins. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was in denial for his franchise quarterback to miss their biggest game of the season this weekend and left his a return window open. The next day, Romo had an epidural injection with the Cowboys in hopes of receiving good news for his questionable play this Sunday; but after results didn’t go the way they hoped for, the team focused on the future and decided on surgery.

Tony Romo’s season now comes to an end after undergoing back surgery this morning and should be ready before training camp opens. Dallas still has to play for the NFC East title Sunday at home against the Philadelphia Eagles and will be looking to Kyle Orton to lead them.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett released a statement Friday morning saying,

“The procedure happened this morning, and we felt the surgery went well. Tony should be able to come home today and start his rehabilitation. He’ll start his road to recovery, sooner rather than later. We’re confident he will rehab and come back at 100 percent.”
