Top 10 Questions For The Upcoming 2014 NFL Season

49ers

Are The 49ers A Legit Super Bowl Contender?

After two impressive seasons, the San Francisco 49ers and Colin Kaepernick have established themselves as potential Super Bowl champions without question. There should be no surprise if they end up in the NFC Championship game for a third straight year.

Obstacles? Of course, but what team doesn’t see a few unexpected things come up that could alter their season? The 49ers were dealt a few blows on the defensive side of the ball, losing LB Aldon Smith for nine games for violating the league substance abuse policy and more recently, Ray McDonald, who violated the domestic violence policy facing a six game suspension. This hurts a defense that lost safety Donte Whitner to free agency earlier this summer, but on the plus side they were able to keep Anquan Boldin from testing the market.

They also made sure Colin Kaepernick would be at the helm for years to come, re-signing him to a massive 6 year $110M contract. Their explosive offense remains pretty much in tact with Boldin, Crabtree, Davis, and Gore so there should be no trouble there. The only thing that could prevent the 49ers from making a return trip is their defense, but something tells me Patrick Willis will have them ready to go.

All signs point to another Seahawks and 49ers playoff match-up, with the winner possibly hoisting the Lombardi trophy.
