How Will Cam Newton Adapt To Young WR Core?

Last March, Steve Smith was sadly released by the Carolina Panthers after a 13-year tenure with the team. Cam Newton’s now heading into his senior year of professional play and is still looking for a deep playoff run. Leading up to the team’s season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Newton’s suffering from injured ribs and still fresh from ankle surgery; but is still targeting to be on the field in week 1.

With the addition of rookies Kelvin Benjamin and Brenton Bersin paired up with aging veterans Jason Avant and Jerricho Cotchery, Cam will not have the luxury of creating his own plays on-the-run for broken plays like we saw in previous seasons. Luckily for Panthers fans, Cam will take the season to work on his pocket passing and develop chemistry with Benjamin, who’s still riding the wave of his heroic BCS title game victory with Florida State last January.

An under .500 season could be looming if things go wrong, but Carolina is definitely a team to watch out for in the future.
