In 4 days, the 2013-14 NBA season will officially being with a double header featuring the return of Derrick Rose, as his Chicago Bulls open their year against the Miami Heat. In the later part of the night, the Los Angeles Lakers (without Kobe Bryant) will take on the new talk of the town, the rising LA Clippers.
As those stories unravel to kick off this season, there are many more to follow. One of which is Philadelphia 76er big man Nerlens Noel having to miss his rookie season to recover from an ACL surgery, but we’ll still see some impressive rookies this year, to justify their class not being inferior to the pending summer draft featuring Andrew Wiggins. The fact is that there is obvious teams that will tank for Wiggins in hopes of rebuilding their franchises. There’s also a handful of teams in the NBA that want revenge against LeBron James and the Miami Heat. The big elephant in the room is whether LeBron will be taking his talents back home to Cleveland; but holding up the NBA Finals MVP for the third consecutive year could give indication where he wants to be.
