Top 5 Surprises Of The 2016 NCAA Basketball Season So Far

College Basketball has been filled with chaos, which is a good thing. It’s great because we get to watch 40 minutes of full effort basketball. You won’t see a player taking a break on defense, like accused player James Harden in the NBA. No, you’ll get 10 players on a court who are ultimately playing for a future contract. I’m not here saying which is better to watch, NBA or NCAA, I am just here for entertainment. The true entertainment started when the first upset happened, Northern Iowa took down #1 North Carolina 71-67.

After that, the flood gates opened on top 5 ranked teams. Then the #8 Maryland win over #3 Iowa. It was the 23rd top 5 loss, 13 of which were to unranked opponents. To put the numbers into perspective for you, there were only 21 top 5 losses total last year. Without one team whose been labeled as the clear dominant team, every team is on the hot seat. All anyone can gather is it’s going to be really hard to pick 68 teams for the tournament.
