Top 5 Surprises Of The 2016 NCAA Basketball Season So Far

SMU

The team from Texas led by the great Larry Brown, SMU, has been of to quite a start. They started the season 18 and 0 before their loss on Sunday at Temple. I know they’re in the American Conference and their strength of schedule ranking in the nation is 93rd. So the Mustangs won’t have many quality wins. They have beat Stanford and TCU on the road. Also they had a convincing win against Michigan. Their roster is highlighted with overlooked talent. It all starts with Ben Moore and Jordan Tolbert, both shooting an amazing 57% from the field. Along with nearly averaging double double in points and rebounds.

They started to get their respect with a top 10 ranking last week, after a loss they sit at 13th. SMU has a relatively easy schedule the rest of the season. They will see Gonzaga and UCONN in back to back games, other than that it’s manageable. We all are hoping for a good finish from the Mustangs, at at least for Larry Brown’s sake.
