Keep Paul Pierce on ESPN. . .
Much like most of the playoffs and throughout the regular season, the topic of the entire year has been Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James. While a possible NBA Finals victory next week against the Golden State Warriors could solidify the King as the greatest ever, in the social media sports world (not us by the way) – some are taking these blasphemous claims a little further.
Yesterday, Tracy McGrady was back on ESPN’s The Jump with Rachel Nichols and Paul Pierce to explain why he’d rather play with the Akron kid over the G.O.A.T. Being a previous superstar himself, T-Mac explained how he believed LeBron would defer at times to superstars and let them get some scoring in – while MJ wouldn’t take a second seat to anybody.
This immediately caused Paul Pierce to step in and defend his long-time friend, saying that Mike’s demeanor and seriousness about the game (no flipping bottles on the sidelines), was more important than a few extra fancy passes in games. Take a look at the claims above from the newest member of the NBA Hall-of-Fame and let us know in the comments what you think.
