TMZ talks to Ty right before his arrest
Last night, Denver Nuggets star Ty Lawson was been arrested on DUI charges for the second time in six months. After showing signs of intoxication on the LA 101 Freeway, local California Highway Police pulled him over and gave him a field sobriety test around 2:30am this morning. Prior to the arrest, Ty was seen leaving a local Hollywood club with former reality TV star Ashley King and showed no signs in our opinion of sever intoxication.
Unfortunately, the CHP authorities didn’t share the same opinion, leading to a follow-up arrest of his January incident in Missouri. Lawson was taken to jail and held on a $5,000 bail, which we’re hoping doesn’t lead to a lengthy suspension from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. The Nuggets have also been actively trying to trade him, but his $13 million a year contract is something hard to convince another franchise to take on their books.
