UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II | Tonight At 10

Rematch Tonight From UFC 144 To Determine The Real Lightweight Champion.

Tonight’s tale of the tape features UFC Lightweight Champion Benson “Smooth” Henderson (16-2) and Frankie “The Answer” Edgar (14-2-1). The fight scheduled for tonight marks the two fighters first fight since their UFC 144 match where Henderson defeated Edgar in a controversial finish. Smooth was awarded the victory by all 3 judges which immediately prompted Edgar to protest the decision as well as many outraged fans in the UFC community.

The first fight between the two fighters was so close that UFC president Dana White scheduled an immediate rematch between the two to find out the true winner. The thing is though, in Frankie Edgar’s 5-year 2 loss UFC career, he’s never lost a rematch, but many are predicting Benson Henderson to walk away this time with an non-unanimous decision. The only questions that remain tonight will be whether Henderson can avoid the ‘Trilogy’ with a victory tonight or will the Rocky of the octagon, Frankie Edgar regain his belt.

In the co-main event, hometown favorite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (18-4-1) faces The Young Assassin, Melvin Guillard (30-10-2). This catch-weight bout tonight in my opinion will be the fight of the night as these two will leave their friendship outside of the octagon as both fighters will look to get back on track towards a future title opportunity with a victory. Cowboy Cerrone known mainly for grappling opponents using Muay Thai is also known to be able to hold his own in Boxing as well. Guillard, who’s victories mainly come from knockouts will have to be very careful tonight in not letting this fight go on to long because Cerrone can flip the switch at any moment and turn this fight into horizontal match as the majority of Cowboy’s victories have came via submission.

Be sure to tune in tonight as UFC 150 emanates live from Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
