There have been rumblings of this going down for months, but it seems like things have become official and UFC 200 will be the last card to be televised under the old regime. News has finally broke out that the UFC is selling for an unprecedented $4 billion dollars.

Talent agency WME-IMG will be taking over the company from the Fertitta brothers, marking the purchase as the most expensive transaction for an organization in sports history. The brothers will still have a minority stake in the company, but will step down from their respective positions.

Dana White’s role will not change and will remain as UFC president and minority owner.

If fans are wondering what this means for the company, White emphasizes that things will stay the same and only be taken to the “next level” under the new management.

Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta bought the UFC for $2 million back in 2000 and turned the organization into one of the fastest rising in sports today.

We’ll see what this means for the company in the long run, but in the short run, it seems like things will stay the same and just continue moving forward.
