Jazz look to future with starter Burks out for season

In the very tough western conference, the Utah Jazz season hasn’t gone the way their young core of players would have liked thus far. With playoff aspirations definitely out the window, the team received more bad news, learning their starting guard Alec Burks would have to miss the entire 2015 season. The 23-year-old player was having a career year, averaging 14 points, 4 boards and 3 assist through their first two months of action.

After inking a four-year extension over the summer, Burks was giving fans intrigue alongside the starting core of Gordon Hayward, Trey Burke, Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors. Rodney Hood and the team’s 5th overall pick from last year’s draft Dante Exum will see an increase in minutes, which should give insight on their direction headed forward for next year in the back-court.
