Eli’s Safety Blanket Stays Put, As Giants Ink Victor Cruz To New Multi-Year Deal.

After stalled negotiations, the New York Giants have finally agreed to terms with their wide-out Victor Cruz. Following the recent One-Year, $2.9M deal that was announced in mid-June for the restricted free agent tender; fans of the G-men were wary of their star player leaving in free agency after the 2013 season. The Giants saw where their team was headed and locked up Cruz in the prime years of his career right now.

The new 5-year extension adds to the deal already in place from June totaling the contract to 6 years’ worth over $46 million. Fresh off a Pro Bowl season where he followed his record setting 1,536 receiving yards (most in Giants franchise history); Cruz will be looking to provide those insane stats once again with a healthy team this year.

Now that Cruz has completed his 3-year rookie contract, next up on the horizon for the Giants to re-sign is Hakeem Nicks who will be completed with his rookie deal after 2013.
