Would You Want To See An NBA Mid-Season Tournament?

Would this eliminate the All-Star game, though?

David Stern might have sailed off into the retirement sunset, but Adam Silver has proven worthy of the NBA crown ever since his inception into the league last February. Not only did he handle the Donald Sterling saga well, but now there’s news he might shake up the regular season in a dramatic way.

In a press conference just yesterday, there were some ideas thrown around about a mid-season tournament for the league that could possibly take place in Las Vegas. While the details of what exactly they meant are unclear as of now, Silver is vowing to make the league better and a tournament in the middle of the season (much like soccer) might be of some benefit and intrigue for fans.

Of course, this would need some tweaks, especially because it’s an 82 game season and having a tournament plus the playoffs might prove too much wear and tear for players in the long haul. We all know how tired teams are by the time they hit April.

Cutting down the number of games during the season and adding something like draft incentive might prove to be a good reason to implement, but is this something you want to see? Let us know in the comments if it’s a good idea for the NBA.
