RIP Chyna!

Yesterday afternoon, another death hit the wrestling world, as Joanie Laurer, better known to many as Chyna, passed away. The official cause of death is unknown; but according to her career manager, she was found lying peacefully in her bed. In her brief 4-year career with WWE, Chyna became a wrestling household name, known for her time with D-Generation X, the late Eddie Guerrero and a slew of first and only various records for women.

Her estate issued a statement saying, “It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the 9th wonder of the world has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her.”

Since being exiled from WWE in 2004, her brief adult entertainment career hindered her from any mention on live programming or any type of legend’s contract with the company for 12 years. With many fans pushing for her Hall-of-Fame induction over the years, we’re hopeful Vince McMahon and his team will reconsider their stance on the late wrestling legend.
