Top 5 pick guaranteed now……
Although the Minnesota Timberwolves have been arguably the most under-achieving team this year in the NBA, it’s trio-core of Karl-Anthony Tows, Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins have kept fans intrigued for the future. Well, it looks like the team will fall significantly in standings, as they’ve learned that they’ll be with their starting shooting guard for the remainder of the year.
Last night, in a meeting against the Detroit Pistons, LaVine left in the third quarter with a knee contusion and was immediately evaluated for tests. The Timberwolves learned today that Zach had indeed a torn ACL in his left knee and would have a season-ending surgery in the coming days.
Through 37-minutes of play, LaVine averaged 19-points a game and even recently announced he would be sitting out of this year’s Slam Dunk Contest next weekend.
As of now, head coach and president, Tom Thibodeau, will take these next few weeks to re-evaluate the team and see which holes he needs to fill on the roster. We expect a key free agent to join them in the off-season, alongside their previously mentioned top lottery pick in June.
