Next Generation’s Lack Of Library
Before the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launched, the sole Killer-App title both consoles were using as Trojan-horses was WATCH_DOGS. The game would soon see a lengthy delay of 6 months that put a huge drought on both consoles. Microsoft and Sony had exclusive games to launch with their consoles last holiday, but none had an instant hit on their hands with endless replay value. Sadly, with the exception of Madden NFL and NBA 2K, our consoles haven’t been used for anything outside of social media chatting and a few relatively stale and overpriced arcade titles. The worst delay in the history of gaming for a launch window title was WATCH_DOGS last year and some of us behind-the-scenes here even became uninterested in gaming due to the lack of innovation from other developers.
This is the first title next-gen owners must own if they spent hundreds of dollars of the shiny new hardware. The game’s also available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 but is a shell of itself in comparison to the upgraded version.
