It’s not perfect!
The first thing when you play NBA 2K16, is must notice it’s not perfect. No video game not named WWF No Mercy on Nintendo 64 is perfect and never will be, but the next installment of 2K Sports’ basketball series leaves a pretty great first, second, third and fourth impressions when you pick up the sticks. From its vastly improved defense, new dribbling and crossover realism styles and the lack of cheese present; it’s something that we’ve almost fell in love with this year.
The only gripe we’re seeing many have is the story and dialogue in MyCareer, which could use some work (we guess), but it’s not something to dictate whether the entire game is great. It’s still a few issues that need to be addressed, including toning down the blocks, turning up steals on uncontrollable catches and allowing certain players to catch up on defense in the fast break – just to name a few. However, the game’s overall polish is just the best we’ve seen this decade from any basketball title. We’re just hopeful after their NBA LIVE 2016 scare, 2K Sports continues to upgrade the title in gameplay next summer and not give us the usual lackluster presentations we’ve seen.
