#Madden25 out this Friday!
5 Gameplay changes we loved about Madden 25, as we dive into possibly the franchise’s biggest release to date from EA Sports. With the highly anticipated release of Madden 25 hitting this Friday, we’ve had the chance to experience the game early, starting from the original Beta last summer to the current early rollout.
While Madden 25 boasts an array of exciting new features, what has impressed us the most is how fluid the gameplay feels, especially now that the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles have truly hit their stride. One standout feature generating buzz is the new BOOM Tech, but from our time with the beta, it’s the revamped running system—with advanced juke dynamics—that has really caught our attention.
Below, we dive into our top five favorite gameplay changes in Madden 25.
1. BOOM Tech: This new system brings more realistic, physics-based tackling to the game. It factors in player weight, speed, and ratings to make tackles feel more authentic. This includes an improved Hit Stick mechanic, which now requires precise timing for maximum impact.
2. Signature Pre-Play Styles: Madden 25 introduces over 200 new pre-play animations, allowing players to see signature behaviors from star players like Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes. These animations enhance the realism and immersion of pre-snap moments.
3. Smart Pre-Play Adjustments: For the first time, the game allows players to react to opposing team adjustments in real-time at the line of scrimmage. This adds a new layer of strategy, as you can now make contextually appropriate changes based on your opponent’s moves.
4. Revamped Skill Moves: The ball carrier mechanics have been overhauled, with hundreds of new juke moves and a “Setup State” feature. This allows for more creative and deceptive movements, giving offensive players more tools to outmaneuver defenders.
5. Improved Catching and Blocking: New catching mechanics, including a one-handed catch option, and more accurate pass-blocking controls have been added. Players can now see which defenders their blockers are targeting, adding strategic depth to the offensive line play.
