Warner Bros. Games Montreal reveals one of the major components for their upcoming semi open title “Batman: Arkham Origins,” being multiplayer. We’ve been impressed with the main campaign thus far in the teaser previews, but the WB and Splash Damage are taking it a step further this time adding a suitable online experience that may in fact be better than single player. In the trailer, we’re shown how the online component will work out which will feature a total of eight players taking the streets of Gotham City.

Each team with consist of three Joker thugs, three Bane thugs and two heroes you can pick from being Batman or Robin. The gameplay style will be third-person/cover-based (see Gears of War), but if you’re expecting to have that in the single-player experience, it won’t happen. Both components of the upcoming title are being developed by two different teams which will offer dynamic experiences each time you go solo or hit the online world.

While Arkham Origins hasn’t been planned for a next-generation release, you can enjoy all the action this October 25th on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii U. You can watch the multiplayer reveal trailer after the jump
