Digital Illusions CE or D.I.C.E. shows off their latest Vlog for their upcoming first-person shooter, Battlefield 4. Leaving the Frostbite 2 engine behind for last generation, DICE is planning to advance the game-play experience even more with an updated Frostbite 3 engine heading into the next-generation of consoles in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The engine makes its official debut on BF4 which would should give us a of a good sign in what to expect in future fellow Electronic Art titles from the likes of Command & Conquer, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Star Wars: Battlefront, Need for Speed: Rivals, Mirror’s Edge 2; and most of all, the next Mass Effect. In the video, we see the developers behind the game discussing destruction of environments upgraded, an improved combat system for ocean fighting and new character designs focusing on modeled eyes imitating real life.
Along with all of these things, Frostbite 3 will be one of the biggest innovations to gaming for the foreseeable future, as you can watch the video after the jump getting your first taste of the detailed action.
