2K Games and Irrational Games, first-person shooter BioShock Infinite released nearly 7 months ago and was received with nearly flawless scores. We’ve personally played this game countless hours in heaven (see storyline), which the time for official story-driven downloadable content has finally came. The part one of the two-part “Burial at Sea” DLC will be releasing before the year ends, returning the game back to Rapture.
The content, which takes place on New Year’s Eve in 1958 in the underwater city, is centered on events that took place before the first BioShock released back in 2007. Those of you who miss the original engine from the series previous games will be in luck for the DLC adding an original feel back to the game including new weapons, gear and of course, Plasmids. The mechanic of weapons wheel seen in the first two BioShock games will return giving players freedom to carry more than two weapons at a time.
Lead developer, Ken Levine is expected to give an official release date in the coming weeks, which we can look for the Burial at Sea DLC to arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows this Holiday. You can check after the jump to watch the first 5 minutes of episode one and get a taste of the newly updated rapture city.
