Flappy Birds returns, but there’s a catch!
Last year, Dong Nguyen & .GEARS Studios launched the mobile cult phenomenon, Flappy Birds. The game would soon see fame earlier this year even earning $50,000 a day from in-game advertising, but was soon removed from both the iOS store and Android marketplace.
With the popular title gone from all mobile devices to users who had never downloaded the game, multiple Flappy Birds clones would arrive to mobile platforms every day, but none of the replicates could capture the magic from its original predecessor.
The game has now relaunched as Flappy Birds Family for the Amazon Android marketplace, but is noticeably missing from Apple’s iTunes and Google Play. The new resurrected 2D side-scroller now features the long-awaited inclusion of multi-player and is currently available for FREE to play on Amazon’s recently launched set-top-box, FireTV.
