Sorry kiddies. . .
Last month, GameStop revealed one of the sickest plans in the history of their company; announcing a new rental service, PowerPass. The $60-buck service, for six months, was set to enable consumers to rent any used game at one time; then swap out for another title whenever they wanted.
Unfortunately, Kataku has now revealed that the retailer giant has delayed the program indefinitely. A spokesperson for GameStop revealed that the subscription pass was paused due “program limitations,” as those of you who signed up for early invitations can get a full refund.
It’s unclear why PowerPass has been delayed, but the report also cited that most stores aren’t equipped to handle the supply-and-demand of this service. We’re assuming this will be a select plan for specific consumers in the distant future.
