Halo 5: Launch Gameplay Trailer
With just one week left until the next installment in the Halo series hits retail and digital for our preference, new details have emerged regarding the alien-shooter. Josh Holmes of Microsoft’s in-house developer studio, 343 Industries, confirmed the unfortunate day-one update – which is set to be a whopping 9GBs. The mandatory download for Halo 5: Guardians includes is for multiplayer and map content patch play, which we’re hoping will go live before midnight.
This is fresh off the heels of Microsoft revealed their new Spartan Companies community system for hardcore gamers of the series to find link-minded users in the battlefield. Last year’s Halo: Master Chief Collection was nearly 63GBs, but the single release of Guardians featuring the day-one update will near 70GBs. We hope most of you don’t have a cap limit on your ISP, because trying to download the game last minute will cause much frustration.
While anything under 100GBs is nothing out of the norm for PC gamers, this is a sign for the future of larger game files on not only this platform, but PlayStation 4 as well.
