Lindsay Lohan Loses Lawsuit Against Grand Theft Auto Publishers

Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2017?

During the 2013 roll-out for Grand Theft Auto 5 a few years ago, the character of Lacy Jonas emerged, which drew some similar comparisons to actress-model, Lindsay Lohan.

This prompted the 30-year-old star to file a 67-page complaint against both publisher, Take-Two Interactive and developer, Rockstar Games – citing her likeness was used without her permission for the previously mentioned character. However, the multi-million-dollar suit was dismissed by New York State Court of Appeals after a photograph, names nor references were mentioned with Lindsay.

The claim that her image was used for promoting the game was also dismissed, as the court said in a statement, “This video game’s unique story, characters, dialogue, and environment, combined with the player’s ability to choose how to proceed in the game, render it a work of fiction and satire.”

Hopefully with this burden raised off the shoulders of Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar Games can transition back to making the next open world title for PS4 Neo and Xbox Scorpio systems.
