N7 2017 it is!
After a jaw-dropping reveal at e3 last summer in Los Angeles, Mass Effect: Andromeda was expected to arrive next fall. Unfortunately, an executive at Electronic Arts has let loose some heartbreaking news in the latter half of the first quarter. EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen, spoke about the title’s release at a business summit this week, saying that Andromeda could be delayed until March 2017, with the possibility of even more delays over the next twelve months.
The original trailer confirmed the game to release holiday 2016, but developer and creativity issues have hindered its progression at Bioware. Just two weeks ago, the game’s lead writer, Chris Schlerf, left the studio to join Destiny developer, Bungie – so this isn’t a good sign that the title will go gold early next year. With the Titanfall 2 going multiplatform on PlayStation 4 and the next Battlefield awaiting release dates, EA may be shifting its focus elsewhere for the rest of the year.
