RELATED: Sony Reveals PlayStation 4 Launch Date
With Pax Prime weekend concluding a few days ago, and the 2013 Tokyo Game Showset to go down in only a matter of weeks; Microsoft has finally decided to reveal to the world their release date for the Xbox One. The next installment in the Xbox console series will officially launch on November 22nd, to mimic the original release date of the Xbox 360.
We were “under the impression” that the new console would launch on November 5th to pair aside Call of Duty: Ghosts, but Microsoft has opted to release their console a week later than the PlayStation’s date. News today also surfaced of a central processing unit power (CPU) upgrade from 1.6 GHz to 1.75 GHz marking it the second time for a core spec upgrade within the last most (GPU upgrade from 800 MHz to 853 MHz).
Whether releasing the console after the PlayStation 4 was the smart decision still remains to seen, as Microsoft has aimed justify their pricey $500 box headlined by launch titles like Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza 5; plus exclusive content for Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and FIFA 14 (free with the console for Europe).
This many modifications weeks before a console’s launch date has us puzzled, which we’re worrying about a repeat of the infamous overheating Red Ring Of Death seen last generation.
