Microsoft to Purchase of Former PlayStation Major Franchise to Make Exclusive on Xbox Series X

Movie. . . Viral. . .

Dating back to 2015, Hideo Kojima left Konami, after an apparent falling out behind-the-scenes. While neither party has spoke on their issues public, Kojima immediately partnered up with Sony to upstart several new IPs, including Death Stranding on PlayStation 4 last fall.

While the title was a visual masterpiece, that didn’t resonate with gameplay and innovation for the general masses to catch on. Well, it’s being brought to our attention that a former major title of Kojima is on the verge of being purchased by Microsoft.

The Big M is readying a multi-million purchase Metal Gear Solid, as they want it to release exclusively on the Xbox Series X. This would likely partner the MGS series with Halo and Gears of War as their big-three of first-party titles.

Considering Halo is set to launch with the Series X in a few months, and we just saw Gears of War 5 last year, Microsoft is looking to get out the next feature project starring Solid Snake before 2022. We last saw the franchise back in 2015, with the release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes & The Phantom Pain.

Since those IPs are owned directly by Konami, we could also see the return of Silent Hill, if they have success with the first MGS on XSX. Let us know in the comments what you think.
