NBA 2K21 Revealed for Next-Gen PS5 & Xbox Series X

#NBA2K21 on PS5 and XSX

The NBA 2K21 PS5 trailer was formally revealed by 2K Sports and Sony this afternoon. Shockingly, they said the game is being built from the ground-up on the PlayStation 5. This has many Xbox owners confused, if it’ll be two entirely differently experiences or a port.

From the initial trailer, there’s a huge emphasis on player movement (and sweat). Many noticed that the new engine the game is on, is reminiscent of EA’s NBA LIVE series. While no in-game footage was revealed, we get a brief glimpse of the raw motion to expect when it arrives later this year.

Statement from 2K:

“From graphics as in-your-face as Zion’s dunk to almost unrecognizable loading speeds of less than two seconds, NBA 2K21 for next gen is poised to shatter all our previous notions of what this franchise can deliver. With 2K21, we’ve got something that merges incredible graphic capabilities with new in-game opportunities to reset the sports sim standard. For next-gen, NBA 2K21 will feature drastically improved load speeds, visual fidelity on an unmatched level and an unrivaled breadth of content for basketball fans and players. Fans can expect new game features, game modes, brand partnerships, social events, in-game experiences and a brand new soundtrack that will set the record as the most definitive collection of music ever assembled in a video game. These updates and more will set the bar for sports simulation games when the game debuts this Fall. ”

Statement from Zion:
“I’m hyped by how realistic the next gen gameplay is and how accurately it captures my looks and playing style. It’s mind blowing to see what 2K has created with NBA 2K21. I can’t wait to see what else NBA 2K21 has in store.”
