NBA LIVE 17 Delayed Until Early 2017

NBA 2K17 will sadly be the only new release in September

Following nearly five years of an exile from the retail scene, EA Sports finally returned to the basketball arena last fall, with the release of NBA LIVE 16. With the exception of Pro-Am, which was the highlight of the entire game, the non-park experience just didn’t click with mainstream gamers.

Now, it’s official follow-up will unfortunately be delayed for a few months, as gamers of the EA Simulation title will have to wait until early 2017 to get their hands on NBA LIVE 17.

However, the publisher issued an official statement, following some rumors earlier today of a slide presentation for its 2017 fiscal year layout. Luckily, NBA LIVE 17 was listed as a fourth quarter release, which ensure consumers will have the title in their hands before next March.

Since we know the people at EA Sports are reading this, our suggestion would be have a flat rate of $20 bucks, to convince consumers to purchase your product next year – especially if the title has addressed proper jumping, shooting and some animations (dribbling is goat, leave that alone).

Statement from EA Sports

Hey LIVE fans:

I want to share some important updates on what’s next for NBA LIVE and give you an overview of where we’re going with the franchise over the course of this year.

It’s important that you know that we are committed to NBA LIVE in the console space. While we won’t be shipping a product this Fall, we will be back on the courts with something new and exciting for you to experience in early 2017.

Our focus this year is to deliver an amazing, high-quality basketball game to a global audience. The best way to do that is through the fastest growing, largest, and most accessible gaming platform…mobile. As a team, we’re really excited about taking the franchise to new places with the worldwide release of our mobile game later this year.
