Nintendo Cuts Price Of Wii U Deluxe To $299

Before Microsoft and Sony releases their upcoming next-generation consoles, Nintendo has decided to reduce the price of their latest project, the Wii-U. It’s really been amazing to see the drop off in Nintendo product purchases from arguably the most successful console ever in the original Wii, to extremely lackluster sales for the Wii-U. As part of the new price cut down $50 from $350 initially, every console now comes with a free copy of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD along with a Zelda-themed Gamepad.

Later this holiday, a newly designed bundle will arrive as well featuring free copies of Super Mario 3D World and Wii Fit U. After seeing global sales at only 3.6 million last month, a price cut was necessary to drive momentum heading into the 4th quarter; but without AAA titles and a deep library, we can’t see consumers going for the Nintendo Wii-U this year. The original standard versions of Nintendo Wii-U consoles will now be discontinued, with only one standard version being available in the original black deluxe.

Look for the new Wii U bundles in stores this September 20th!
