No mention of 4K or 1080p gaming for standard television display
Last month, Nintendo officially revealed their upcoming next-gen console, Switch. While details regarding, its internal specifications remain private for another few more weeks, a report has emerged regarding it’s 720p display screen. According to Eurogamer, the Nintendo Switch will have a 10-point multi-touch screen, which wasn’t showcased in the debut trailer.
The screen size is also confirmed to be 6.2 inches, but home gaming on a television is still unclear whether or not the Big N is taking a leap to 4K display – or will stay in standard 1080p definition.
The plan is to bring the device more in line with modern tablets and phones, as the right joy-con controller (the detachable controller above) will feature an infrared sensor, which is expected to be used as a pointer on the TV for communication with its system dock sensor.
Tatsumi Kimishima, President of Nintendo, teased more hardware accessories will be unveiled for the Switch, when the company holds a direct broadcast for the Switch on January 12, 2017.
