Nintendo Debuts Next-Gen ‘Nintendo Switch’ Console

On the go, anywhere = March 2017!

With Sony and Microsoft looking to standardize 1080p gaming and up-scaled 4K content to the gaming community, Nintendo is taking another simplistic approach with the launch of their next system. For months, the Japanese-based company has teased information about their upcoming code-named NX device, including retailers confirming that it was a cartridge based machine.

Well, today, the Big N finally unveils their highly-anticipated device through a world premiere trailer reveal. While pricing wasn’t shared at the moment, we officially meet the new hand held and home gaming system, Nintendo Switch. In the trailer, we get a glimpse of what should have gamers intrigued for next spring with the various different configuration you can enjoy the device for.

The screen, (we’re assuming) should be around 7 inches, can be used for portable gaming and multiplayer use up to four people in person. It’s directional and face button controllers, dubbed the Joy-Con, also gives us serious nostalgia of the Wii and Wii-U. They can be attached directly to the central unit, for a single player experience as the Joy-Con Grip; and can also be attached to the tablet like a standard Wii-U.

A new 3D Mario game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, NBA 2K17, Skyrim: Definitive Edition and Splatoon were titles showcased throughout the trailer. Look for more details to emerge throughout the holiday, including the official March 2017 launch date; as well as pricing and pre-order information.
