4 weeks. . .
Notes from NBA 2K21 debut gameplay trailer. This week, 2K Sports finally released in-game footage of their upcoming next basketball title, NBA 2K21. With the game set to release in four weeks, and a pending demo on the way, first details have finally emerged.
While there was little being discussed, there was more than a handful of new implements to notice. The immediate change we noticed, was a new shot meter. For years, NBA 2k has kept the same shot meter, but now they’re incorporated a meter reminiscent of modern NBA LIVE.
Next up, the biggest thing fans wanted changed, outside of gameplay; was the Neighborhood. For the last three 2K games, we’ve been stuck in the same copy-and-paste-styled format for the neighborhood. However, NBA 2K21 will have multiple park locations, including different cities.
College teams were also teased again, which we’re assuming will play a part in MyCAREER. During your road to the NBA, fans were accustomed to picking their own college, before going pro. However, that option had been disabled in recent 2K titles. It’s unclear if you’ll be able to run regular college games on the new title, which would be the ultimate dream – even if it’s a handful of teams.
The good news for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consumers in three weeks, is that NBA 2K21 looks exactly like NBA 2K20. So, this is extremely great for those of you who have doubts in 2K Sports making a completely different game. With capabilities maxed out on both systems, there’s a lot to look forward to on the next-gen version. This means, new animations, movements, control settings and environments will be showcased.
For those of you that still play with regular teams and not MyCAREER, the gameplay doesn’t feel smooth, unless you’re in those game modes with your own created player. It really maximizes the experience you have with the game. Considering 2K has made the bulk of their revenue through MyCareer virtual currency, expect that mode to be their main focal point heading forward.
