After adding ESPN and ABC Network channels (under Disney) to Playstation VUE, Sony’s TV service is now taking things a step further and launching nationwide.
Previously, VUE was only available in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, and Miami because only those locations offered local broadcasting from NBC, FOX, ABC and CBS. Considering Sony had been slow to roll out to other cities, they have now solved part of that problem in today’s launch.
If you live outside of the aforementioned cities, you can still try out VUE, with the only difference being the fact that you will not receive local broadcasting, only On-Demand options. That means you can watch all your favorite shows from big networks the next day like DVR. With the news, the price have now decreased even more than originally reported, thanks to the new “slim” packages.
Although the new plans are still more expensive than SLING TV by $10, Sony offers DVR and On-Demand (something SLING TV doesn’t) and more channels. Access Slim with 55+ channels starts at $29.99, Core Slim (70+ channels) is now $34.99 and Elite Slim (100+ channels) is $44.99.
