Last month, Rockstar Games announced they would be revealing a new title at the upcoming e3 event in Los Angeles this summer. While many are expecting it to be Red Dead Redemption 2, TechRadar has uncovered some news from the New York City-based imprint.

During the roll-out of Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City, Rockstar was planning to create a Tokyo version of their open world title. The company went as far to even making a trip to Japan and scoping out the city in 2003; which led them to apply for trademarks GTA: Tokyo and GTA: Bogota.

However, with the exception of London, Rockstar Games decided to keep the series stateside – due to the problematic road system of the city. In related news, the source confirmed that GTA 6 was in development, but wouldn’t confirm the location for the next installment of the franchise.
