Sony Adds Major Twitch Update for PS4 Pro Owners

That old cinematic 30 frames-per-second is almost over

Last March, Twitch finally implemented 1080p streaming at 60 frames-per-second, which should be the benchmark for any video game released in this modern era. Unfortunately, classic 30fps games are still plaguing home consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for the foreseeable future.

However, their respective PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X devices are taking gamers into the real next-gen. This week, Sony revealed that PS4 Pro owners can now broadcast their gaming on switch in 1080p/60fps, which is something many have been waiting for nearly 10 years. This comes in the new PS4 Firmware 5.0 update, which is still yet to be fully released to the public.

If you’re in the private beta testing, which began a few weeks ago in late July, you can boot up Twitch right now to test out. Look for a public rollout of the service to arrive in the coming days.
