Sony Introduces the New PlayStation App Ahead of PS5 Release

We are about two weeks away from the release of PlayStation 5 and Sony is getting everything prepared for next generation. One thing that is getting upgrade ahead of PS5 is the PlayStation app and in a major way.

With the new update, users will be able to remotely launch games, sign in to their console directly from the app and even manage storage on the console remotely. This mean, you can clear storage, buy a game and install and update it without even turning on your PS5. This is a game changer, considering you can handle everything from the app before grabbing your DualSense controller and going through the process.

It really saves players time and by the time you get to the console, it’s already on there.

On top of it, you will be able to message friends, voice chat and create party groups directly from the app as well. You can basically set up your Call Of Duty game beforehand and then jump online to play when you’re ready.

A new UI has been added as well, which completely switches up the home screen and looks cleaner.

For those who have the PS Messages app, it will cease to exist soon, considering Sony has intergrated it to the new PS app. Messages, threads and more will carry over to the new update as well.

The new update is available now on iOS or Android.

In related PlayStation news, the company has announced the new lineup for their PlayStation Plus for PS5 collection and more games have been added that weren’t there originally. This launches on November 12 with the release of PlayStation 5.
